Discussion Starter · #1 · Oct 31, 2013. Does anyone out there have any real world experience with Chris Reeves Knives? Specifically, I am look at the green beret knife in the 5 inch blade. They are expensive (around 300 bucks) but the reviews seem pretty stellar. Still a Becker KK2 or AFSK is just a fraction of that price.
The Green Beret is now made from S35VN, which if I remember correctly is quite a bit tougher than S30V. After having several folders in both steels, I can confidently say that S35VN will roll an edge before chipping, while S30V chips readily from any impact. My S35VN Bravo 1 has held up well through very hard use, but there's more to a tough knife than the steel.
